Senate passes constitutional amendments for state police in Nigeria.
The lawmakers passed the bill on Wednesday
The senators earlier resolved to resort to manual voting for the consideration of the state police bill after its electronic voting device had developed a technical fault.
The resolution came as senators expressed concerns that some lawmakers might be disenfranchised if the chamber moved forward with the faulty device.
In manual voting, each legislator will stand up and announce their names, stating their positions on the proposed state police framework openly.
Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele,
proposed the motion for the adoption of a manual vote.
