The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday, held its 109th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja.
The meeting was held at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja and chaired by its chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed.
Others who attended the NEC meeting were Wike, the daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Iyabo Obasanjo, the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, and the PDP governorship candidate for Gombe State, Isa Pantami; and the presidential candidate of the party, Sandy Onor.
Others at the meeting were the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, the other members of the National Working Committee (NWC), Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mao Ohabunwa and a host of other party leaders.
The meeting’s agenda includes the presentation of Certificates of Return to candidates who emerged from the primaries ahead of the 2027 general election.

Meanwhile, the faction of the PDP led by Kabiru Turaki also held its own meeting at a different venue and issued Certificates of Return to candidates elected under its faction.
Turaki, who presented certificates to the candidates, told them that they must sign an undertaking not to defect from the PDP after winning the election before their names are submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The event, which took place at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, had leaders and stakeholders of the party in attendance.
