Nigerian entertainment personalities Phyna and Nkechi Blessing are scheduled to face each other in a celebrity boxing match following their recent exchange on social media.
The reality TV star and Nollywood actress will headline the “Phyna vs Nkechi” bout on October 1 at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.
The contest is being organised under Balmoral Group Promotions’ “Chaos in the Ring” series, a programme that combines boxing with celebrity entertainment.
Organisers announced the matchup on September 18, accompanied by promotional images of both entertainers wearing boxing equipment as they prepare for the Independence Day event.
The contest follows a disagreement between Phyna and Nkechi Blessing that played out publicly on social media.
Nkechi had criticised Phyna over her participation in online disputes, while Phyna responded by questioning the actress’ decision to call her out publicly.

Phyna also revealed that she and Nkechi had previously been in communication over a movie project.
With the announcement of the boxing contest, the disagreement between the two entertainers has moved beyond online exchanges and into a scheduled live event.
The “Chaos in the Ring” series has previously featured several Nigerian entertainers. Among those who have participated are Portable, Charles Okocha, Speed Darlington and Carter Efe.
Carter Efe defeated Portable by unanimous decision in May, while Charles Okocha won their rematch in July.
The upcoming Lagos event is expected to attract viewers outside the venue, as organisers have confirmed live broadcast coverage through DAZN and SuperSport.
The celebrity bout reflects the increasing use of boxing events to combine entertainment, celebrity personalities and social media-driven publicity.
Organisers had yet to announce the full undercard and ticketing information as of Saturday.
