Former Zamfara State Governor and Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC), Senator Abdulaziz Yari, says Nigerians will be convinced to give President Bola Tinubu a fresh mandate in the 2027 presidential election.
Yari reaffirmed the commitment of the APC Presidential Campaign Council to securing public support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition while speaking with journalists in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The former governor is in Mecca alongside President Tinubu and other prominent Nigerians to perform the lesser Hajj (Umrah).
President Tinubu had, during a media chat in Saudi Arabia on Friday, expressed confidence in God’s will concerning his re-election bid.
The President said he had enormous faith that Allah’s decision would prevail, stressing that only God determines who becomes a leader.
Reacting to the President’s remarks, Senator Yari said President Tinubu’s faith in God, his administration’s achievements and the campaign council’s mobilisation efforts would help secure public support and victory at the polls.
According to him, the President’s decision to pray for Nigeria and its citizens before discussing his political ambition reflects the qualities of a responsible leader.
Yari said the APC-PCC would intensify its efforts to engage Nigerians, highlight the administration’s achievements and convince voters to support Tinubu’s re-election.
“That’s what makes a leader, because when you ask him, he first prayed for the country, prayed for every Nigerian”.
He also said this election is one in which God has selected the person who will be the leader, and only Him can put a leader in place or otherwise.
So, in total, I depend on Allah to do it for him as He did it for him in 2023. By that, Allah says we should work, and all the procedures we are undertaking to campaign, talk to people, convince them and show them what we have done and achieved will, by God’s grace, convince people to elect us.” Senator Yari said.
The APC-PCC is expected to intensify its mobilisation and public engagement ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
