Private candidates’ results for the 2025 Second Series Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) have been made public by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

Candidates can view their digital certificates after confirming their results online, according to a statement released by the examination authority on Monday, February 16.

Tips for Verifying and Printing WAEC Certificates and Results
Prior to obtaining digital certificates, candidates were instructed by WAEC to check their performance on its result portal.

Before accessing released digital certificate copies on the Digital Certificate platform at www.waec.org, candidates can examine their results by going to www.waecdirect.org to verify their status.

Candidates must use the WAEC Certificate Request Portal, e-Certman, to apply online for the printing of hard copy certificates. According to the statement, all test takers are encouraged to carefully examine their findings and take the appropriate action right once, including obtaining their certificates and submitting the necessary online applications.

According to information released by the council, 69,604 individuals enrolled for the test, which is 1.8% more than the 68,342 that were registered in 2024.

Of this figure, 65,752 individuals reportedly took the test at 370 locations around the country.

There were 235 special needs candidates that took part, including those who are blind, deaf, or have hearing impairments.

According to WAEC, 32,005 or 48.68 percent of the 65,752 candidates who took the test were men, while 33,747 or 51.32 percent were women.

61,943 candidates, or 94.21 percent, had their results fully processed and made public, while 3,809 candidates, or 5.79 percent, still had certain subjects processed because of mistakes that could be linked to them, the report continued.

However, the council reassured impacted candidates that the processing was still being worked on.

The performance results that were made public show that 33,989 candidates, or 51.69 percent, received credit or above in at least five subjects, whether or not they took English language and math.

Additionally, 27,727 candidates, or 42.17 percent, received credit or higher in at least five disciplines, including mathematics and English language.

14,311 candidates, or 51.61 percent of the total, were female, and 13,416 candidates, or 48.39 percent, were male.

1,899 Results Were Withheld Due to Maltrust
Furthermore, due to suspected exam misconduct, WAEC revealed that 1,899 candidates’ results—or 2.89 percent of all candidates who took the test—were withheld.

According to the council, inquiries were still being conducted and would be referred to the relevant committee for decision-making.

The committee would also immediately inform the impacted candidates of its decisions.
