During a tough midnight fight that lasted many hours, security troops of Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI successfully repelled coordinated terrorist attacks intended to overwhelm military posts in Konduga, Marte, Jakana, and Mainok.
Between 10:30 p.m. and 3:00 a.m., the assailants made simultaneous strikes, but the soldiers put up a strong fight and held their defensive positions.

The insurgents were forced to retreat after being disorganized by tactical flanking maneuvers carried out by reinforcement soldiers. When there were sporadic breaches, soldiers quickly retook control by launching counterattacks. A number of rebel commanders and leaders were neutralized, according to security officials, while more combatants were killed during the counteroffensive.

Precision airstrikes were coordinated with ground forces to target enemy positions and fleeing insurgents, according to a statement released by media information officer Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba. Exploitation teams are still recovering weapons and equipment from the fighting areas, and the operations further reduced the capabilities of the rebels. Although certain places have structural damage, authorities emphasized that all military stations are still under government control.

Officials noted that the military’ prompt action prevented serious security breaches and safeguarded civilian neighborhoods, characterizing the abortive attack as proof of mounting pressure on terrorist networks. The theater’s operations will keep destroying rebel capabilities and bringing about long-lasting peace.

Unfortunately, there were deaths among the soldiers as a result of the conflict, including a senior officer who was killed while directing troops to defend their positions. According to military authorities, his sacrifice was a testament to the commitment and expertise of those who serve the country.

As efforts continue, residents in the impacted villages have been asked to stay alert and notify security services of any suspicious activity.
