All prospective members are urged to relocate to their wards in order to take part in the registration process, which the African Democratic Congress, or ADC, has launched in Anambra State.

This comes as the party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has declared that the South-East as a whole supports his aspiration and maintains that the region’s citizens have the right to govern the nation.

Speaking to members during the flag-off of registration, Obi stated that South-East stakeholders are collaborating with others to make sure the region produces the next president who will save the nation from poor leadership.

“South-East is working as a family on this journey,” he stated. Every prominent political figure is present at ADC. As a family, we are working together and communicating with others around the nation.

“We are trying to bring all opposition parties together in this exercise, so you will see political party members cooperating with us with the goal of making Nigeria a workplace.”

“We want Nigeria to be a safe country, not the world’s fifth most unstable nation and the place where no one wants to be born.”

Additionally, Obi pledged to contest the revised Electoral Act, claiming that it is aimed against the opposition.

He stated that instead of focusing on ensuring a credible election, the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, cannot dictate to parties whose candidate to field.

“After reviewing the Electoral Act in its whole, INEC has no justification for dictating how parties elect their candidates. A few of us will contest it. They want to concentrate on election procedures. They shouldn’t decide to quit their job as referees in order to instruct a coach on player selection.

“Those who yesterday professed to be Democrats are now the worst despots. Instead of discussing governance, they are now discussing seizing power and abusing it once more, like they did in 2023.

“They are discussing how to steal election results, but we won’t allow them to do it this time. We currently have the worst power issue in the nation. We’ll seize them if they do. This time, they won’t be able to accomplish it.

“We want to register as many people as possible because the election of 2027 will be against bad leadership,” he said, urging widespread registration.

“They won’t claim that South-East has returned or that it requires power, but they must recognize that South-East is Nigeria and that we are both stakeholders and a part of it.

“We in the South-East claim to want a new Nigeria, and we are the only people in every region of the country who own their own homes and conduct lawful business.”

“We want a Nigeria where we can lift Nigerians out of poverty, and we know that doing so will make us safe.”

“We want all of you to become men’s fishermen. Don’t be terrified of what they have; if they have this and that, they won’t be scared. They are aware that everything they possess is phony, and we will immediately pursue them all.

Senator Ben Obi, who presided over the flag-off event, declared, “I want to assure that no one will be cheated.” Making ensuring Peter Obi is elected president is our shared objective.

We are all aware that we are working with other regions of Nigeria to make sure of this, but we shouldn’t cause him any trouble in Anambra. His strongest foundation must be Anambra, and I want to emphasize that we will set aside time to make sure that everyone in the party is at ease.

“Our shared objective is to ensure Peter Obi’s success; anyone who does otherwise is not contributing to the cause, and we will not permit that to occur.”

Benchuks Nwosu, the chairman of the Registration Committee, disclosed that each of the 326 wards will receive 150 cards, with one register per ward.
