Kenneth Okonkwo, a leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has said that if Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, leaves the coalition because the party lost the presidential ticket, he will be called a mole of President Bola Tinubu.

Okonkwo said this during an interview with Channels Television, according to reports.

When asked about the rumors that Peter Obi will leave the ADC coalition if he doesn’t get the party’s presidential ticket,

Kenneth Okonkwo said that if that happened, it would only mean that Peter Obi is working for President Tinubu’s re-election and is compromised.

He asked, “Will he now be a mobile squatter if he leaves?” Anyone who runs for president in ADC and then leaves for another party is a mobile squatter and is working for Tinubu.

“Anyone who leaves the coalition is working for Tinubu and is compromised. Whoever that person is

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said that he is ready to step aside if Peter Obi becomes the ADC candidate in 2027.

Atiku said this while answering questions during an interview on Arise News on Wednesday night.

When asked directly if he would step aside if Obi wins the ADC presidential primary, he said yes.

Atiku and Peter Obi are seen as the top candidates for the ADC’s presidential ticket.

It is also thought that Rabiu Kwankwaso and Rotimi Amaechi are in the running for the ADC ticket.

Atiku said, “Yes, I will step aside for any winner,” when asked if he would step down for Obi if the former Labour Party presidential candidate gets the ADC ticket.

When asked if “any winner includes Peter Obi,” Atiku said, “Of course, if he is a contender, why not?”
