Omoyele Sowore, who used to run for president for the African Action Congress (AAC), says that President Bola Tinubu will only serve one term and will not run for re-election in 2027.
Reports say that Sowore said this on Friday while talking to reporters and supporters in Abuja.
Sowore said that President Tinubu is sucking the life out of Nigerians because people are getting more and more angry about the country’s economic problems and rising crime.
Sowore said that Nigerians need to fight back and make sure that Tinubu doesn’t win the next election.
He said, “I promise you, Nigerians, he will not come back if he does come back.” He is president for one term. That’s the truth.
“And Nigerians can do it, because this guy came and is taking life away from Nigerians. We don’t just stand in front of people and say we’re abusing someone. We are being honest with you when we say that it is about your being.
“This guy is taking people’s lives away.” And we have to fight back. And we have to do whatever it takes to make sure we are still here after his terrible term is over.
Rotimi Amaechi, who used to be the Minister of Transportation and the Governor of Rivers State, has also said that many Nigerians want to vote Tinubu out of office in 2027.
He said this on Friday when he was on Channels Television.
Amaechi, who was on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief program on Friday, said that things were getting worse economically and that people were having a harder time across the country.
The ex-minister said, “Everyone is suffering and looking for food to eat.” People can’t get gas or go anywhere. The airlines are threatening to raise the cost of travel; prices are going through the roof.
“God, President Tinubu doesn’t have the right to speak. He doesn’t.” He said he would give them power and that they shouldn’t vote for him if he didn’t. “Nigerians are waiting to vote him out.”
