Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor in Osun State, has said that if he is elected on August 15, he will include non-indigenous people and other groups in the state.
Oyebamiji said this on Sunday during a public meeting with the Arewa Community in the town of Ibokun, which is in the Obokun local government council area of the state.
Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, who used to be a special adviser to former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Civic Engagement, spoke for Oyebamiji. He said that his administration would take a structural approach to creating a government that includes everyone and encourages everyone to participate, regardless of their social class.
“This framework will close the gap between the government and the grassroots, making sure that public policies are based on the direct needs and input of the people,” he said.
The APC guber candidate said again that the people will be fully involved in making and carrying out his policies. This will help the state reach its full potential in the direction of the Sustainable Development Goals for the benefit of the people.
He said that the party would keep “people-oriented programs” going and work with a wide range of groups, such as farmers’ associations, trade unions, artisans, and communities that are not indigenous, making them important stakeholders.
In response, Alhaji Ayuba Mohammed, the seriki of Arewa Community in the Obokun local government council area, thanked the APC administration led by former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for regularly working with them, giving them the support they needed, and solving all of their community problems before they turned into crises through the office of civic engagement.
“We are going to vote for APC in the next governorship elections, and Bola Oyebamiji is our candidate.
“They helped us when we had problems with community issues in different parts of the state, and everything worked out well. Since then, we have lived in peace and harmony.
“With the help of the former governor, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, we got land, and the government of Oyetola sent us regular supplies of palliative.”
The leader of the Area community asked for a more business-friendly environment and asked Oyebamiji to keep working with them.
“We are promising him our full support, and we will show it at the polls,” they said.
