Dino Melaye, a former senator from Kogi West, has explained why he left the All Progressives Congress. He said that the way things were going in the party made him want to leave.

He talked about his time in the ruling party and why he decided to leave during an interview on Seun Akinbaloye’s Mic On Podcast.

Melaye said that the party’s environment became dangerous and no longer fit with his beliefs. He said that the political environment around him at the time became too much for him to handle, so he had to leave to protect himself and think about where he was going.

He said that his choice was like a major change in his life and political journey. He made it clear that leaving the party was not a quick decision but one he made after thinking about his future for a long time.

He said, “I was working in a satanic environment.” I was in a dangerous place and had to leave. I had to change, just like Saul did when he was going to Damascus and became Paul.

The former lawmaker, who was known for often speaking out against the government and the way politics works, said he needed to change his position and find a path that better fit his goals.
