On Wednesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with former President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa.
Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, is said to have said this.

In the meantime, Jonathan has answered former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s claim that he was not qualified for the job while he was in office.
During a live TV interview, Atiku said that Jonathan made a lot of mistakes as President because he didn’t know what he was doing.
“I know Goodluck Jonathan very well.” He is a good young man, but he doesn’t have a lot of experience, which I think made it hard for him to run the country, especially when things got tough,” he said.
Jonathan responded to Atiku’s speech at the 2025 Association of Retired Career Ambassadors of Nigeria awards ceremony in Abuja on Monday by saying that anyone who becomes a governor or president would admit to making mistakes.
He defended his administration and said that he did his best while he was in office.
Jonathan said, “Not too long ago, a very high-ranking politician said, ‘Oh, Jonathan was too young, and that’s probably why he made mistakes.’
“If I made mistakes, yes, no one who becomes a governor or president will say you didn’t make mistakes. You become a god when you put yourself on a pedestal.
Everyone makes mistakes. When I was 53, I became president. People say I was too young when I left in 2015 at the age of 58. “Did I have to wait 100 years to run the state?”
