Some musicians have lent their voice to the call for the rescue of the pupils, students and teachers abducted by gunmen from Baptist Nursery and Primary School (Yawota), Community Grammar School and L.A Primary School (Esiele), all in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, on May 15, 2026.

It was reported that 39 students and seven teachers were abducted and two teachers have been killed, sparking a national outrage.

Victony replied by calling on President Bola Tinubu to address the insecurity in the country and rescue all kidnapped victims, especially children.

He took to his X handle and wrote “Save our children & Put an end to this mess @officialABAT”

Similarly, Davido said he is deeply saddened by the incident and the ongoing sufferings of the victims in captivity.

“We must not allow the current insecurity to continue,” he said.

Taking to his Snapchat page, the singer reacted to the reports of the victims’ continued ordeal in the abduction camp by writing, “I’m weak. God, please take over. We can’t keep doing this.. my heart goes out to the victims and family .. this is messed up”

Timaya, on his part, issued a statement urging the Presidency to take urgent steps to address the rising insecurity in the country.

“The Government is urged to show even greater urgency, collaboration and action to respond to the growing security challenges in many parts of our country,” the statement read in part.
