Ibrahim Wala, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has accused the party’s presidential primary election of being marred by intimidation, vote buying and other irregularities.

It was reported that Wala, a loyalist to one of the leading ADC presidential aspirants, Rotimi Amaechi, supervised the exercise in Gombe State.

Amaechi on Tuesday rejected the results of the polls, saying the process lacked transparency and fairness as earlier promised by the opposition party.

Wala, who also endorsed Amaechi’s claim in a post on his official Facebook page Wednesday described the process as “brazen, shameless auction that betrayed every value the ADC promised to uphold.

Comrade Wala said voters were intimidated and disenfranchised and said the election result was decided in a hotel room.

The ADC chieftain urged the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who is currently leading, to immediately dissociate himself from what he described as “dirty, concocted primary election results”.

He said he had “undisputed evidence of irregularities and disenfranchisement of voters” that took place under him in Gombe State.

An agent personally approached me, offering to take me to the hotel room of the committee leadership to get whatever I wanted.

“This hotel room was used as a secret situation room where the state party leadership retired to after their field day to finish their manipulative work behind closed doors”, he alleged.
