Liyel Imoke, a former governor of Cross River State, and Abdulfatah Ahmed, a former governor of Kwara State, have been appointed by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to head its committees for the party’s upcoming presidential primary.
Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, made this announcement on Monday.
The announcement states that Abdulfatah Ahmed would lead the Presidential Election Committee, while Senator Imoke will chair the Presidential Screening Committee.
Hon. C.I.D. Maduabum, who serves as the committee’s secretary, Alhaji Lawal Batagarawa, Prof. Bode Ayorinde, Hon. Nnena Elendu-Ukeje, Prof. David Salifu, and Col. Abubakar Ali Ciroma are among the other members.
Maj.-Gen. Adamu Jalingo, Dr. Auwalu Anwar, Chief Emenike Ikechi, Dr. Macaulay Iyare, Tajudeen Bakare, Elder Ubolo Itodo Okpanachi, Zainab Buba Galadima, Uzoamaka Onyeama, and Maj.-Gen. Muhammad Inuwa Idris are members of the Presidential Election Committee, which is chaired by Prof. Yisa Gana.
Additionally, the party established a Presidential Appeals Committee, with Barr. Ken Imasuagbon serving as Secretary and Dr. Suleiman Usman, SAN serving as Chairman. Dare Okerade will be a participant.
Two screening panels were formed by the ADC for the governorship primary. S.E. Aruwa, SAN, chairs the first panel, while Femi Olawuyi, Esq. serves as secretary. Ibrahim Mohammed Wali, Prof. Rabiu Bello, Chief Dr. Vivian E. Ugochukwu, Lauretta Onochie, and Akilu Indabawa are among the other members.
Hon. Chille Igbawua is the secretary of the second governorship screening panel, which is presided over by Barr. Justina Abanida. H.E. Gerrard Irona, Navy Capt. Aliyu Ngolmo, Hassan Mohammed Ibrahim, Joseph Ephraim Enemali, and Sen. Yisa Braimoh are among the other members.
Additionally, the party approved two committees for governorship appeals. The first committee is led by P.I. Oyewole Esq., with Adah Usman serving as a member and Abdulhakeen Taiye Ibrahim serving as secretary. M.E. Sheriff, Esq. is the chair of the second appeal committee, which also includes Barr. Hassan Yakubu as a member and Barr. Realwan Okpanachi as secretary.
According to the ADC, the committees were meticulously set up to guarantee openness, legitimacy, equity, and internal democracy throughout the party’s primary process.
