The Rivers State All Progressives Congress, APC, House of Assembly Screening Appeal Committee, led by Abdul Mahmud, has upheld the disqualification of aspirants associated with the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
It was gathered that 33 of the aspirants screened on Saturday were cleared, while 65 were disqualified.
The 65 disqualified aspirants have been identified as loyalists of Fubara.
The appeal committee chairman told journalists on Tuesday that 19 appeals have been filed by some of the disqualified aspirants.
The deadline for filing of appeals falls on Wednesday, he said.
“The final list of cleared aspirants will be released when the date for appeals elapses,” the committee said.
