The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State has suspended a serving member of the House of Representatives, a local government vice chairman and six other party officials over alleged anti-party activities.

The APC State Executive Committee announced the decision saying it was to safeguard party discipline and internal unity.

The suspended lawmakers are Ibrahim Usman Auyo representing Auyo, Kafin Hausa and Hadejia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The Vice Chairman of Auyo Local Government, Ibrahim Ayama, the party’s Deputy State Women Leader, Aisha Adamu Auyo and five other officials were also affected.

The party said the affected members were involved in activities that were considered harmful to the unity, stability and progress of APC in a statement jointly signed by the APC State Chairman, Ahmed Garba.

The statement said the allegations were related to incidents that allegedly took place in Auyo Local Government Area on 26 May, 2026.

If proven, the party said, the actions could constitute violations of the party’s constitution including acts of disloyalty and anti-party conduct.

APC said the suspension takes effect from the time of this statement and will remain in force until the party’s State Disciplinary Committee completes it’s investigation.

During the period of suspension the members concerned shall not be entitled to represent the party in any capacity or to participate in any official party activity.

The APC assured that all affected members would be given opportunity to defend themselves as enshrined in the party’s constitution and principles of natural justice.
