Davido’s Sister Sharon Says She No Longer Believes in Buying Expensive Clothes

Sharon Adeleke, sister of Nigerian singer Davido, has revealed that she is becoming more selective about spending on fashion, saying she no longer believes expensive clothes are always worth the money.

The celebrity shared her position while discussing her shopping preferences, noting that there are certain items she is no longer willing to pay large amounts for.

“I don’t really believe in buying expensive clothes. There are certain things I’m not willing to pay for anymore,” Sharon said.

Her statement has generated discussions on social media, particularly about the cost of designer clothing and the prices charged by some Nigerian fashion businesses.

Several users offered different interpretations of her remarks, with some suggesting that wealth and exposure to luxury can change how people value expensive products.

Mr Prolific criticised what he described as excessive pricing among some Nigerian clothing brands, arguing that certain items cost far more than he believed they should.

DarksideAura suggested that people who can comfortably afford expensive purchases may eventually reach a point where they no longer feel the need to buy more.

Saint Vincent, however, argued that people who have experienced luxury may develop different spending attitudes from those who have not had similar opportunities.

Other commenters also shared personal reactions to Sharon’s statement, turning the discussion into a broader debate about financial privilege, fashion and consumer behaviour.

The conversation comes amid continuing discussions about the affordability of locally produced fashion and whether high prices charged by some brands are justified.

Sharon did not suggest that everyone should adopt her approach but explained that she personally no longer considers certain expensive clothing purchases worthwhile.

Her comments reflect an individual shift in spending priorities and highlight how even people associated with wealth can become more selective about what they purchase.

The online reactions also demonstrate the differing attitudes towards luxury among consumers, with opinions often shaped by income, personal experiences and perceptions of value.

The debate has kept attention on Sharon’s views about fashion spending and the wider question of what makes clothing worth its price.
