Aisha Achimugu, a businesswoman and socialite, says that her company honestly bought an oil bloc through a fair bidding process that took place between 2022 and 2024.

Achimugu talked about it on Monday while answering questions on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

There were reports that Achimugu had already denied that $13 million was found in her home, saying that only $50,000 and N13 million were found during a raid on her home.

She said that her company took part in both the deep offshore bid round that took place between 2022 and 2023 and the mini bid round that took place between 2023 and 2024.

She said that her oil and gas company met all the requirements and came out on top in the process.

Reports say that her comments come at a time when the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is looking into her. The EFCC had previously said she was wanted for money laundering and criminal conspiracy.

As part of its investigation, the anti-corruption agency also searched her home. Different reports have come out about how much money was found during the search.

“There were two bid rounds: the deep offshore bid round, which took place between 2022 and 2023, and the mini bid round, which took place between 2023 and 2024,” she said.

“We took part in this process. We run an oil and gas company because we have all the resources we need and I’m very bold and driven. I have the team to make it happen.

“We went through that process, and by the grace of God, we won it. In a very clear way. It was open to the public. It wasn’t chosen.
