Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has said that Children’s Day is a reminder of the collective responsibility to nurture, protect and invest in the younger generation.
The governor who congratulated children across the state and Nigeria on the 2026 Children’s Day celebration described them as the hope, pride and future of society.
In a statement issued in Osogbo by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke said that children are the reason why government must continue to work tirelessly to build a better future for the society.
The governor said children are “the foundation of tomorrow’s Osun State. Every child should have access to quality education, healthcare, protection and equal opportunities, regardless of social background”.
“The dreams, talents and aspirations of children are critical to the future growth and prosperity of the state,” he said.
He added that the administration equally values every child in public schools, private institutions and government care homes.
“Children are the hope, pride and future of society,” the governor said.
Adeleke reiterated his administration’s commitment to policies and programmes aimed at the welfare, growth and development of children across the state.
He said ongoing efforts were focused on improving access to quality education, safe learning environments, child welfare services, and better living conditions for young people.
The governor also urged parents, guardians, teachers and religious leaders to continue inculcating discipline, moral values, respect and compassion in children, adding that raising responsible children is a collective responsibility.
Adeleke cautioned against child abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence, noting that any society that failed to protect its children risked endangering its future.
“As we celebrate our young today, I want to assure every parent and every child that our administration will leave no stone unturned in protecting and developing the future of our young ones,” the governor said.
