Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and former APC National Chairman, Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, were among the hundreds of party stakeholders who donated N50 million for the purchase of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid forms for 2027.
The stakeholders of the party in Kano unanimously adopted President Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections and pledged to donate N50 million towards the purchase of his expression of interest and nomination forms.
The decision was taken at a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held at the Coronation Hall of the Kano Government House where party leaders reiterated their commitment to the continuation of the President’s leadership.
This was stated in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kano State, Mustapha Muhammad.
Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi moved a motion for the adoption of President Tinubu, which received unanimous support from stakeholders present at the meeting.
Also speaking during the session, the Kano State APC Chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa, said the state chapter had originally planned to buy the nomination forms outrightly, but later decided to give financial assistance in support of the President’s candidature.
“We have agreed to contribute the sum of N50 million for the purchase of expression of interest and nomination forms for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
Stakeholders said the endorsement is a clear signal of their trust in the President’s leadership and ongoing reforms, and their united resolve to see the party emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections.
The meeting also reaffirmed the endorsement of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as the sole governorship candidate of the APC in Kano State, in a bid to strengthen unity and cohesion within the party.
The Kano State Government lauded the stakeholders for their unflinching support and urged all party members to be united in moving forward the collective interest of the party and the development of the state.
