‘Hello Mr Right’ Launches Season 4 With AI-Driven Matchmaking

StarTimes is set to launch the fourth season of its original dating reality show, Hello Mr Right, with artificial intelligence and a new female-led competition format among the major additions.

The new season will open with an audition episode on September 26 on ST Nollywood Plus. The audition will be repeated on October 1 before the full season begins on October 3.

Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, widely known as KieKie, will return as the host of the programme for the third successive season.

Nelson Enwerem, popularly called Prince Nelson, will also return as co-host, marking his second season in the role.

According to Series Director Jide Ali, viewers should expect a significant change in the way contestants interact and make selections in the upcoming season.

The new format, known as “The Switch”, will feature 12 men competing for the attention of a single “Miss Right”. The arrangement reverses the traditional structure and allows the female contestant to play the leading role in choosing a potential partner.

Another major addition is an AI-powered matchmaking segment. Ali said the technology would assess contestants based on information contained in their profiles and recommend a match based on compatibility.

“We also have an AI segment that matches contestants based on their profiles. AI uses its own assessment to match the lady it considers most compatible with the profile of Mr Right,” he said.

Series Producer Rotimi Babalogbon said Season 4 would also present a more diverse group of contestants. Participants will come from different professional backgrounds and age groups, with varied personal experiences and body types.

For KieKie, however, technology is not a replacement for authenticity when it comes to relationships.

“I just think it’s about being genuine and being real, being authentic, because relationships are one very quick way to expose your flaws,” she said.

StarTimes Marketing Director Oke Umurhohwo said the company’s investment in the programme is part of its strategy to develop original entertainment that resonates with young Nigerians.

The new season will be backed by television promotions, social media campaigns, influencer collaborations, contestant content and audience participation.

The fourth season of Hello Mr Right will air exclusively on ST Nollywood Plus via StarTimes.
