Celebrity businessman Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as ChiefPriest, has broken his silence after the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency of Imo State.

Cubana, the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, was reported to have lost his bid after polling only 14 votes.

The nightlife promoter was heavily ridiculed by netizens for not winning the APC ticket despite his support for President Bola Tinubu.

Reacting to the outcome of the primaries, ChiefPriest in a video clip circulating online said his only regret was trusting the elders in his community.

“I am a hustler, and I did not regret trying to contest for a seat,” he said. My only regret was I trusted the elders in the community.

“I know how much I gave them but only 14 people voted for me in the primary”

ChiefPriest recently sparked discussions online sharing his opinion on politicians who have a large following on social media.

He made it clear that popularity on the internet does not always translate into success during elections.

Politicians who get praise and support on social media often lose at the polls while those who are heavily criticised online tend to win.

This he shared on his Instagram story, where he talked about how online reactions are not what happens in real voting.

He cited Desmond Elliot as an example, saying that despite the backlash he faced online in the past, he still won his election.
