Senate President Godswill Akpabio has explained his decision to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Akpabio said a progressive-minded person like him should belong to a progressive family.
He said when APC approached him, he realised the PDP had been the wrong party for him all along, hence he took an early exit and joined the progressives.
Akpabio made the fresh revelation on Friday while speaking at the inauguration of access roads to renewed hope cities and estates in Karsana West District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
He said, “A progressive-minded person like me should belong to a progressive family, therefore, when APC come to me, I discovered that that was my group and that I was in PDP. So, I left early and joined the progressives.”
