Imo Governor Backs President Tinubu’s Re-election Bid

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold economic reforms and expressed confidence that the administration will perform well enough to secure a second term in 2027.

Uzodimma made the remarks at a state dinner held at the Government House, Owerri, to mark the end of the three-day inspection of landmark federal and state projects by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Presidential Communications Team in Imo State.

Governor Hope Uzodimma described President Bola Tinubu as the Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore who came to power ready to take on the country’s economic challenges with bold and sweeping reforms, turning a new page in Nigeria’s development.

‘The old order is gone and there’s a new order now. President Tinubu came with a clear purpose. He understood the task before him and he started implementing the reforms immediately,” he said.

He likened the pre-reform economic situation of Nigeria to the bondage of the Israelites in Egypt, drawing a biblical analogy and saying that just as God delivered the Israelites through difficult circumstances, the President’s bold decisions were necessary to free the country from years of economic stagnation.

He conceded the reforms entailed short-term pain, but maintained that they were already yielding positive outcomes, especially in terms of enhanced revenues that were at the disposal of states for infrastructure and human capital development.

The ongoing transformation across Imo State, according to the governor, is a direct product of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Everything we are doing in Imo today is made possible by the Renewed Hope Agenda. “We are working for sustainable development, we are investing in infrastructure, health, education and technology because the reforms have created the enabling environment for development,” he said.

Uzodimma declared that Nigerians would give President Tinubu another term in office in 2027, saying the benefits of the administration’s policies would continue to manifest.

Director, Media & Publicity, Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Mr Tunde Rahman, issued a statement on behalf of Mr. Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser, Media and Public Communication to the President, praising Governor Uzodimma for what he described as a remarkable infrastructure transformation in Imo State after a three-day inspection tour of federal and state government projects in the state.

The projects inspected were a demonstration of the practical implementation of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, through robust collaboration between the Federal and Imo State Governments, Mr. Dare said.
