The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has urged commanders of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to continue and escalate operational pressure on militants and other criminal elements across the country.
CAS gave the charge at an operational briefing with Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding, Directors and Air Component Commanders from various areas of operation nationwide.
The operational briefing, held as part of ongoing efforts to reinforce national security operations, brought together senior NAF personnel to discuss ongoing air operations and examine measures targeted at confronting insecurity across the country.
The meeting focused on strengthening operational effectiveness, coordination and mission execution in multiple combat theatres.
Addressing the commanders, Air Marshal Aneke underlined the necessity of continual evaluation and revision of operational tactics and procedures to ensure that air operations remain proactive and result-oriented.
He stated that the dynamic security scenario required adaptable strategies and ongoing commitment from all operating units.
The CAS stressed that every mission done by the Nigerian Air Force must have decisive impact against hostile elements while retaining the greatest level of professionalism.
He specifically underlined the need for precision in operations to minimise collateral damage and defend civilian lives and property during confrontations.
Air Marshal Aneke additionally asked commanders to boost intelligence-driven operations and improve collaboration with other security services in order to achieve higher operational success.
He underlined the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to supporting ongoing joint military operations aimed at restoring peace and stability in difficult areas across the nation.
The briefing also provided an arena for operational commanders to deliver updates from their different theatres, identify emerging difficulties and recommend methods for boosting mission efficiency.
The CAS assured personnel of sustained leadership support, while repeating the NAF’s vow to stay unrelenting in its fight against terrorism, banditry and other forms of criminality harming national security.
