The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has condemned supporters of the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, for always viewing national issues through a negative lens.
Bwala was reacting to a cartoon of him holding a glass of water and explaining the importance of context in a recent interview with Mehdi Hasan in a post on his 𝕏 handle Thursday.
The presidential aide said it was important to understand the context of discussions on politics and governance, adding that issues were often viewed differently by people.
He wrote, “I love this pic. Whoever did it, tried to do it. Intellectuals know context matters when talking about issues of politics and governance. `It is either you are looking at life as half full or half empty.`
Bwala said progressives understand that the challenges are part of the process of development.
“Progressives believe context matters, because you will be faced with problems; no progress without process,” he said.
Punching Obi’s supporters popularly called Obidients in the stomach, Bwala said their outlook is negative.
“It is only Peter Obi and his Trojans who see everything as half empty, that is why they are disillusioned, disgruntled and confused,” he said.
He said a positive outlook is a reflection of hope, and a negative outlook is a reflection of pessimism.
“May your journey in life be half full and not half empty; because half full depicts hope, while half empty depicts Obidients,” he added.
