A former Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) governorship candidate in Enugu State, Chris Agu, has expressed his views on Nigeria’s political future, saying the country is heading for some major changes in leadership choices in the lead-up to future elections.

Agu spoke on what he described as a change in the way Nigerians view politics in an interview with Afia TV.
“It was reports that he said many citizens are no longer satisfied with long-time political figures and are beginning to look in new directions when it comes to leadership.

Agu said in his personal opinion that both President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will not return to lead the country after the current political cycle.

He linked this belief to what he called a shift in voter behaviour and a more questioning electorate.

“I think Nigeria is beginning a new political phase where people are no longer satisfied with the same old leaders,” he said. I don’t think Bola Tinubu or Atiku Abubakar will come back to power after this cycle of politics. Nigerians are increasingly aware and critical of the candidates put before them.

“People are asking tougher questions now and are looking past the usual political names. The frustration in the country is driving citizens to look for new political options and alternatives. The era of predictable political dominance is over and new ideas will shape the future of Nigeria. These shifts demonstrate that voters are no longer beholden to old political structures in the same way.”
