The Presidency has expressed security concern over comments made by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal against the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar.
Babachir while announcing his resignation from the ADC on Monday alleged that Atiku is a manipulator, saying that the outcome of the recently concluded primary election of the party was predetermined to favour the former vice president.
He said the general elections at all levels were “massively rigged to favour Kachalla Abubakar Atiku”.
He claimed the results of the polls were “just written or rewritten to favour him and his coven”.
Reacting, Presidential spokesperson, Daniel Bwala in a post on his official X handle said what the former SGF “said about the candidate of ADC if verified is scary and will undermine the national security of Nigeria”.
Bwala said the plans by opposition leaders scheming to remove President Tinubu in 2027 had been exposed, adding that his principal remained the best candidate.
“In the last two or three months, these people were saying they were made from heaven as one indivisible and indissoluble coalition sent by God to come and rescue Nigeria; and alas all their intentions and plans have been exposed”, Bwala said.
With the allegations against some of the opposition candidates, the “choice for 2027 has never been more clearer he said. President Tinubu is in all honesty a million miles ahead of them”.
