Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso said he joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) because of his strong belief in democratic principles.
He said the platform would be deployed in the renewed struggle for good governance and true democracy in Nigeria.
The disclosure was made by Kwankwaso in a post on his 𝕏 account on Monday, it was reported.
He said the move is to give Nigerians a credible platform and called on his supporters and other well-meaning Nigerians to join the NDC.
“Yesterday, we took a bold and decisive step to formally join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
“In Abuja, at the residence of Senator Seriake Dickson, I declared that our decision is borne out of a deep commitment to democratic values.
‘We are committed to providing our people with a credible platform to enable them to thrive and realise their full potential.
“I, therefore, call on all our committed supporters and well-meaning Nigerians to join the NDC and stand with us in this renewed struggle for good governance and true democracy,” he said.
