Yobe East Senator Announces Withdrawal From 2027 Election

Senator representing Yobe East, Mustapha Musa popularly known as Kulas has withdrawn from the race for the 2027 elections and declared support for Governor Mai Mala Buni as his choice of a successor in the National Assembly.

Musa announced his withdrawal in a statement, saying he had aligned with the decision of party leaders and political arrangement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The senator said he would not be contesting for the ticket or any other elective position.

“I hereby formally withdraw from the contest for the ticket,” he said.

Musa also directed his supporters to desist from circulating campaign materials for his promotion to any elective office.

It was learnt that Musa congratulated a former Secretary to the Yobe State Government, Baba Mallam Wali, who has emerged as the preferred governorship candidate of the party’s leadership.

He wished Wali and all All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates success in the forthcoming elections.

Earlier, the senator, who was nursing the governorship ticket, commended Buni and the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Geidam for their “mentorship and sustained support”.

“They have supported me from the beginning when I was the Executive Secretary of Yobe State Scholarship Board to commissioner and later Senator,” he said.
