Daniel Bwala, a presidential assistant, asserted that Nigerians have previously experienced more severe issues.

On Monday, he made the assertion in a post on his 𝕏 account.

Bwala said that rather than being a failure of policy, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reforms are a reflection of required adjustments.

In his words, “Yes, reform is loud.” However, it is important for Nigerians to be truthful with themselves. The issues we had to deal with for years were even more noticeable. We simply become accustomed to them. We grew accustomed to the waste, inefficiency, and difficulty of making basic things function.

According to him, the current disruptions are a part of a larger endeavor to address the nation’s long-standing structural problems.

“Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, things are being fixed, but it won’t be quiet or simple. It’s never true. “Today’s noise is the sound of hard but necessary change,” Bwala continued.

The presidential adviser emphasized that nation-building necessitates perseverance and sacrifice, pointing out that reform initiatives are rarely successful.

The process of developing a nation is not silent. It requires honesty, bravery, and selflessness. He added, “Reform is the best way to long-term stability and shared prosperity for all Nigerians, even though it may be uncomfortable for Nigerians.

Bwala also chastised the opposition parties for their lack of alternative policy recommendations, especially with regard to significant economic choices made by the current government.

The opposition hasn’t yet informed us of the alternatives to eliminating fuel subsidies. The accessible alternative for reconciling FX rates has not yet been disclosed. Among many other things, they have not yet made a counter offer to young Nigerians regarding Nelfund’s student loan, he said.

He also made fun of previous governments, implying that the nation suffered as a result of their actions.

They brought us to Egypt back then. “Just think of the places we could go if they were all gathered together,” Bwala remarked.
