Nollywood actor and House of Representatives aspirant, Emeka Ike, has reacted to the outcome of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary election for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) seat.
Ike reportedly stormed the office of the Commission at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Abuja, where a mild protest was staged on Monday.
The actor claimed that there were irregularities in the conduct of the primary election.
Ike told the officials during the protest that he was angry about the electoral process and that he would not keep quiet about it.
“When the election is going on we don’t have an address. I am a Nigerian, I am an aspirant.
You’re not leaving with this. I am not a social media activist. “INEC will not go scot-free over this,” he said.
Ike had earlier said he would vie for the election into the House of Representatives.
It was reported that the thespian in a video which has gone viral on social media revealed this.
He said he would be contesting for Bwari/AMAC Federal Constituency in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
“I am running for the Federal House of Representatives under Bwari/AMAC Constituency in Abuja and we want to make a federal statement,” he said.
What difference would you make if elected? “If I’ve made you happy as Nigerians, I want to step into the real thing right now, let’s block those boys wey think say na dem get power.
“We don’t deserve to be begging. Let’s stand up, take power and reshuffle our country.
I am no longer angry with our politicians, they have made it clear to us that they do not care about us. I am angry with you Nigerians. “Go and collect your PVCs. That’s all the racket we need at the moment.”
