Babachir Lawal, a former secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), says he has proof that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) primary election was rigged.

He reportedly made the assertion in an interview with the Channels Television show “Politics Today.”

Lawal claims to have been in the field and observed the drill.

He asserted that the statements made by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s supporters were untrue and that a criminal would not own that he is a thief.

Remember that I served as the Northeast National Vice Chairman. I have proof because I participated in the exercise in the field.

“Atiku’s people are lying by attempting to downplay their actions. We are all human. We’ve seen what they did.

“As soon as the primary was completed and the results were announced, I knew it was rigged,” he stated.

Lawal, meantime, has denied allegations that he accepted money from Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, an African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate.

According to reports, Lawal clarified this during an interview on Channels TV in response to claims made by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s supporters that Hayatu-Deen had financial influence over him.

He insists that he did not accept any money from the ADC candidate and claims the accusation is unfounded.

He insisted that he could easily contact President Bola Tinubu instead of looking for help elsewhere if he ever needed financial support.

The former SGF also questioned the veracity of the accusation, requesting evidence that he and Hayatu-Deen had ever exchanged money. He claimed that the claim had not been supported by any proof.

Lawal claimed that his support for Hayatu-Deen had nothing to do with money but rather with the candidate’s aptitude for leadership. He claimed that Hayatu-Deen provided expertise and experience that shaped his viewpoint.

“If I need money right now, I’ll call President Tinubu and get it before I get home,” he declared.

Hayatu-Deen is unable to provide any cash. When he gave me the money, tell me who was present. He might not have delivered it yet. I’ll go pick it up. It has nothing to do with money, I promise. A man named Hayatu-Deen was offering his expertise and services. Atiku lacks Hayatu-Deen’s competence. Even being in the same boat is not possible.
