Mercedes Opens Up About Post-BBNaija Struggles, Begs Don Jazzy for Housing Help
Former Big Brother Naija housemate Mercedes has appealed to Nigerian music executive Don Jazzy for help with accommodation, revealing that she is struggling to establish herself after leaving the reality television show.
Mercedes, whose real name is Ijeoma Emi, shared the emotional request on social media, saying she no longer feels safe or comfortable in her current residence.
The 26-year-old entrepreneur and performance artist explained that although her appearance on the show brought her exposure, it did not automatically provide the financial stability needed to achieve her dreams.
She said she was still working to rebuild her life and establish a sustainable career, despite public assumptions that former housemates are already living comfortably.
Addressing Don Jazzy directly, Mercedes said an apartment of her own would give her the independence, security and peace of mind required to focus on her future.
She also disclosed that her current accommodation was affecting her work as a content creator and pole dancer.
According to her, the ceiling in the house is unsuitable for mounting a pole indoors, forcing her to practise on the balcony.
The situation has made training difficult because sunlight, rainfall and other weather conditions regularly interrupt her sessions.
Mercedes said obtaining a suitable home would enable her to install her pole safely, practise consistently and create more content to support her professional growth.
She stressed that she was not asking for an extravagant lifestyle but simply wanted an opportunity to stand on her own feet.
The former housemate expressed awareness that Don Jazzy receives numerous requests from people seeking assistance but said she hoped he would consider her situation.

Her appeal has generated reactions on social media, with fans expressing sympathy and urging others to help the aspiring performer.
The development has also drawn attention to the challenges some reality television personalities face after their time in the spotlight.
While participation in a popular programme can create opportunities, long-term success may depend on consistent work, financial planning and access to suitable resources.
For Mercedes, finding a stable home would provide a foundation for improving her working conditions and pursuing her ambitions.
However, there was no confirmed response from Don Jazzy in the information available at the time of publication.
