Prophet Joshua Iginla of the Champion Royal Assembly says that Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, is the only person who can give President Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) a tough fight in 2027.
He said that Obi, who is one of the top candidates for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential ticket, only needs a northern deputy to make the APC fight hard.
During a live Sunday service, Iginla told the congregation that Obi should not appoint any other candidate as his deputy.
“This is what I think politically,” he said. If we really want to give the other party a good fight, put Peter Obi in charge and have a Northerner be his deputy. Then we will have a fight.
“Peter Obi, don’t, if you vice anyone, you are no longer politically important. It’s better for you to go zero and let them do their own thing. It’s so easy that you’ll need to be patient if you want to get there.
Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso are said to be in talks about possibly working together, as supporters push for an Obi/Kwankwaso ticket.
