Police in Ghana’s Ashanti Region have arrested a man named Ebenezer Frimpong for allegedly stealing an armored vehicle from the Ghana Police Service in Nkawie Market.

Zagazola Makama says that the incident happened when the driver of the police armored vehicle left the engine running for a short time in a busy market area.

People said that Frimpong took advantage of the situation, got into the car, and drove away. This made security personnel act right away.

After hearing about the theft, police officers started a coordinated chase along the Nkawie–Mim route to find the suspect.

After what officials called a quick and well-planned operation, he was finally caught and arrested near Mim.

A security source said, “The suspect was caught without any problems, and the car was found in good condition.”

Authorities said that the armored car was recovered without any damage and has since been given back to the police.

Frimpong is still in custody while the police look into what happened.
