President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of Works, Engineer David Umahi, on his July 25 birthday, describing him as one of the most outstanding ministers in his administration.
This was contained in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President, Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in Abuja on Saturday.
Before his appointment as Minister of Works, Umahi was a Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial District and served as Governor of Ebonyi State for two consecutive terms from May 2015 to May 2023.
His administration was widely recognised for delivering transformative infrastructure across the state, the presidency said.
President Tinubu praised the minister for his steadfast dedication to constructing lasting road infrastructure, calling him a devoted public servant whose zeal, hard work, and love for the country consistently propel advancements in the nation’s road sector.

The president also called on Engineer Umahi to maintain the momentum in road construction and rehabilitation, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s commitment to improving infrastructure, enhancing economic growth, and raising the standard of living of Nigerians.
“Engineer Umahi has been one of my most hardworking and outstanding ministers,” the President said. He is deeply dedicated to his duties and has maintained his attention on producing quality roads and bridges that will stand the test of time.
“Rather than depending on reports, he is always on project sites across the country, inspecting construction works to ensure strict compliance with approved standards and specifications.
President Tinubu felicitated the minister’s family, friends and associates on the occasion and prayed for his continued good health, strength and wisdom as he continues to serve the nation.
