President Bola Tinubu has admitted that many Nigerians are still facing economic and security challenges.
Tinubu said this on Sunday when he accepted the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential ticket for the 2027 election.
“But there are still challenges ahead, he said, acknowledging the economic hardships the country is experiencing. Many Nigerians are still grappling with soaring prices and changes in the economy.
“We hear these concerns, we see them and we lead not from a place of ease, but from a true understanding of the situation, with honesty and decisive action.”
Even with the military efforts underway, the President also admitted that safety remains a big problem in some areas of the country.
“I acknowledge that some parts of our great country still face security challenges,” Tinubu said.
His government has invested in intelligence, surveillance and advanced security tools, he said.
“We have invested in intelligence, in watching over things, and new tools, and we are working on the fundamentals of insecurity,” Tinubu said.
He also called on the National Assembly to approve state police “as a matter of national emergency.
