The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Kabiru Turaki has challenged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to shut down its operational office in Abuja.

The challenge came after Wike, in his monthly media chat earlier in the week, asked the Turaki-led group to prove its authenticity by operating transparently.

The minister also threatened to seal any building used by the faction for its activities.

The former PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary and private principal secretary to Turaki, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said the faction already has a temporary office, according to The Cable.

“If he could, let Wike take over the office. He knows where it is,” he said.

“We have been running from an office,” Abdullahi said. He knows where it is; he ought to go there and take possession of the office if he can.

“It is an interim office but we are meeting there and doing our functions.

“The crisis rocking the PDP is escalating and pushing the country into what I call a Hobbesian state of anarchy, where life is brutish, short and nasty,” he warned.

Ememobong lambasts Wike
Meanwhile, the Turaki faction’s spokesperson, Ini Ememobong, described Wike’s threat as delusional.

He said the FCT minister knew that the PDP operates party accounts.

Ememobong said: “His delusional boast of dealing with banks that will open accounts for us is delusional, as he is already aware that we are operating accounts of the party, which is why his group of friends are receiving money through private accounts.”
