Nigerian actress Juliana Olayode has called on Christians to uphold their biblical convictions while demonstrating love and compassion towards people with different sexual identities.
Olayode shared her views in an Instagram post, where she criticised what she described as the growing spread of teachings that contradict the Word of God.
She warned that the Church could no longer remain silent as such teachings reached adults, teenagers and children.
The actress urged Christian leaders to return to Scripture, teach its principles and resist pressure to compromise their beliefs.
She argued that identifying as gay or queer conflicts with Christianity as she interprets the faith.
However, Olayode clarified that she did not hate people who identify as gay, homosexual or queer and did not believe they deserved harm because of their sexuality.
She maintained that every human being deserves love and should be treated with dignity.
According to the actress, loving someone does not necessarily mean agreeing with their beliefs or lifestyle, especially when those choices conflict with her understanding of biblical teachings.
She said Christians should speak honestly about their convictions without abandoning compassion for others.
To explain her position, Olayode cited Genesis 1:27, which describes God creating humanity as male and female in His image.

She also referenced Matthew 19:4-6, passages she said affirm the biblical understanding of male and female and marriage.
The actress maintained that believers should allow God’s Word to guide their decisions and convictions rather than permitting cultural trends or personal desires to determine their faith.
Her comments have attracted attention amid ongoing discussions about the relationship between Christianity and LGBTQ identities.
Olayode’s position reflects a traditional interpretation of the biblical passages she referenced, while her emphasis on love highlights her stated belief that religious disagreement should not translate into wishing harm upon others.
She concluded by urging Christians to remain firm in their faith and ensure that their beliefs are rooted in Scripture.
The actress’s remarks have added another voice to the continuing conversation about religious doctrine, sexuality and how believers engage respectfully with people who hold different views.
