Adebayo Adelabu, who works for the Minister of Power, has denied reports that high-ranking members of the All Progressives Congress asked the minister to drop out of the Oyo State governorship race.

Femi Awogboro, the aide, said the reports were false and that former governors Adebisi Akande and Olusegun Osoba still support Adelabu’s goal.

“Chief Akande and Chief Osoba have a lot of faith in Adelabu’s ability to uphold progressive values in Oyo State.” “Since he left the Central Bank of Nigeria to work in politics, they have always backed and encouraged him,” he said.

Awogboro also denied that leaders of the APC South-West met in Lagos to talk about Adelabu’s desire to be governor.

He said that the reports were wrong and that no such meeting took place.

The aide said that the minister still has a lot of support in Oyo State because of the good things he has done for the community.

“Adelabu has made a positive difference in many people’s lives. He said, “His support for young people, widows, and the less fortunate across the state cannot be overstated.”

He also said that the minister’s popularity is still growing, even though people are trying to discredit him.

Awogboro told people who were spreading false information to stop, saying that this would not stop Adelabu from going after his goal.

He also told news organizations to check their reports before they publish them.

He said, “I urge media companies to be careful and always check the truth of any information before they publish it.”

The aide asked people in Oyo State to keep backing the minister and said they were sure he could lead if he was elected.
