By-Elections: INEC Releases Full List Of Winners In Enugu, Rivers, Ondo, Kano And Other States

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the results of the Saturday by-elections in some federal and state constituencies. The All Progressives Congress won in Enugu, Kano, Kebbi and Ondo while the Peoples Democratic Party won the Rivers South-East Senatorial District seat.

The returning officers declared the results of the by-elections after the collation process was completed in the affected states.
Here are the winners of by-elections:

Senatorial District Enugu North

The APC candidate, Ikeje Asogwa, was declared winner of the Enugu North Senatorial District by-election after polling 162,360 votes.

Asogwa beat the PDP candidate, Chief Nestor Ezeme, who got 9,299 votes.

The election was to fill the vacuum left by the death of Senator Okey Ezea on November 18, 2025. Ezea passed away at 62 years of age.

Senatorial District South-East, Rivers

The PDP candidate, Olaka Nwogu, has won the Rivers South-East Senatorial District by-election.

Nwogu defeated the APC candidate, Osar Erewari, who scored 1,647 votes, to poll 47,961 votes.

Senator Barry Mpigi died in February leaving a seat for senatorial vacancy.

Senate, Ondo South Zone

The candidate of the APC, Dayo Faduyile, won the Ondo South Senatorial District by-election with 68,474 votes.

His closest challenger, Adeolu Akinwunmi of the Allied People’s Movement, got 1,411 votes.

The poll was conducted following the appointment of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, vacating the seat.

Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency Kano

The APC’s Rabiu Shuaibu has won the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election in Kano State.

Shuaibu scored 35,356 votes, followed by Lawal Garba-Haruna of the Allied Peoples Movement who scored 268 votes and Abubakar Yahaya-Muhammad of the Labour Party with 98 votes.

The by-election was called after the previous member of the constituency, Muhammad Danjuma-Hassan of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, died.

Kebbi Zuru State Constituency

Rabiu Garba Aiki of the APC has won the Zuru State Constituency by-election into the State House of Assembly in Kebbi State.

Aiki polled 4,887 votes while Aliyu Galadima Muhammad of the Labour Party scored 168 votes.

The vacancy occurred after the death of the former Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru.

Senatorial District: Nasarawa North

The outcome of the Nasarawa North Senatorial District by-election has not been declared by INEC as well.

Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga and Wamba Local Government Areas are holding the election to fill the seat vacated following the death of Senator Godiya Akwashiki after a protracted illness.
